Whitehead Street Wetlands Corowa

Recently upgraded, and featuring a bird hide, shaded picnic area and signage, these significant wetlands at Corowa are home to the Sloane’s Froglet (a vulnerable species) and rare wetland plants. Close to town and easily reached on foot or by bicycle, visitors might also be lucky enough to spot a brolga or two.

Howlong Wetlands

Part of Lions Park at the edge of Howlong and on the banks of the twisting Black Swan anabranch of the Murray River, these wetlands feature local bird and animal species. The nearby small picnic area is a lovely spot to stop and soak up your natural surroundings.

Nulla Nulla Swamp

A place of rare natural beauty, the Nulla Nulla swamp provides natural drainage to Redlands Hill. Journey here – a bike ride is a great way to visit – and also explore the Redlands Hill Reserve; an environmentally protected flora and fauna reserve that boasts an impressive Indigenous and colonial history.
