Dave retired from a 32 year career in animal production and research at a large local agribusiness (Rivalea) in 2020 and during the Covid pandemic realised the need for mental health and social support, particularly of men in our region. This led to a Board position for Dave on the Amaranth Foundation and the instigation of several local men's groups. Dave is always willing to stand up and advocate for mental health, suicide prevention and prostate cancer support. He also spent over 12 months travelling to the Snowy Valley's Shire as part of the bushfire recovery program.
Dave is passionate about community health and one of his primary reasons for standing for council was his desire to provide better health and welfare outcomes for all our residents. This desire is based on a solid knowledge of the health and population dynamics data of our community.
In his spare time, Dave is a keen birdwatcher, motorcyclist, fisherman and golfer and travels all over our shire enjoying our amazing public spaces.
