Howlong Swimming Pool
The Howlong Swimming Pool is set within Howlong’s sporting centre, Lowe Square. The large facility is the perfect place to spend the day with a fantastic kiosk, pools to suit all ages and seasonal swimming lessons for all abilities.

Opening Hours
The Howlong Swimming Pool will open for the summer swimming season from Monday 2nd December, 2024.
Open daily, 1pm - 7pm under a new operating model, known as Tiered Supervision.
Same-day pass outs are available from the Howlong Swimming Pool. Just pay to enter on any given day and you can return during the same day - free of charge! Stop by the pool reception to organise your pass out.
Tiered Supervision
Tiered Supervision means that the pool will adjust the supervision of patrons at the pool based on the number of people in the water.
During periods of low patronage, the pool will enter in “Low Patronage Mode”. Staff will available in the pool to assist. A Pool Attendant will not be actively watching swimmers in the water from pool deck but will be nearby to assist if needed.
During periods of increased patronage, supervision will be increased and Pool Attendants (lifeguard qualified) will actively watch swimmers in the water and be ready to assist.

Note: Council has received a suggestion in relation to fob access to the Howlong Swimming Pool as a means to extend the opening hours to the facility. This 'unsupervised' model poses significant risk to Council given the size of the Howlong community, number of patrons that visit the facility each year and the type of patrons attending the pool (many of which are children with minimal parental supervision). This model has already been identified by Council's insurer as being unsuitable for Howlong Pool and unlikely to be approved. Without approval by Council's insurer, this model would leave Council without adequate liability insurance coverage should something go wrong. For this reason, this model is not recommended for the Howlong Swimming Pool.
