Celebrating National Volunteer Week: Micro Grants Return

Volunteer Week Micro Grants

To celebrate National Volunteer Week, Federation Council is offering twenty grants of $250 to not-for-profits, 355 committees, clubs and local community groups, organisations or schools with a volunteer branch or committee, to assist with commemorating and appreciating their contributions.

The Volunteer Week Micro Grants provide groups with the opportunity to tailor their National Volunteer Week celebrations held 19 - 25 May 2025, to best suit their volunteers. The grants can be used to fund a range of gratitude celebrations such as afternoon teas, certificates of appreciation or award presentations, outings, luncheons, barbeques, or even go towards training and development.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Cheryl Cook said the grants proved to be very popular last year with nineteen celebrations held across our region.

"The community spirit within groups was evident as several grant recipients reached out to and invited other fellow local volunteer groups into their activities,” said Mayor Cook.

“We are excited to see what happens this year and hope the grants continue to provide a great opportunity for volunteers to come together and enjoy some well-deserved recognition for their hard work.”

The application process consists of a simple online form with a few questions. Applications will be accessed chronologically, on an ongoing rolling basis until funds are expended. As a non-competitive application process, submissions will be accessed if they do or do not meet the eligibility requirements. Groups are encouraged to apply quickly for this opportunity.

Interested groups can read the full eligibility requirements on Council’s website. Applications are open from Monday 7th April 2025 via the online form and close COB Monday 21st April 2025. General enquiries about the Volunteer Week Micro Grants can be sent to communityevents@federationcouncil.nsw.gov.au
