Local Government Week celebrates the range and diversity of services councils offer the community: everything from community events, mobile preschools, libraries, sports fields, parks, and cemeteries, to food safety checks, building and development and pet registration.
Mayor of Federation Council, Pat Bourke, said Local Government Week offered a chance to find out more about Council’s operations beyond roads, rates and rubbish. “We invite community members to participate and see the important and far-reaching role councils play as hubs of the community.”
The Federation Council’s New Resident Pack provides a handy reference guide to the services and facilities available from Council and within the Community. A copy can be downloaded from the Council’s website or pick up a hardcopy from the Corowa, Mulwala, Howlong or Urana Council offices.
Local Government Week in 2024 runs from Monday 29 July to Sunday 4 August.
