Ratepayers can skip the queue to pay their rates and water accounts this year as Council has introduced yet another payment option through its corporate website.

Ratepayers can now visit Council’s website and pay their rates and water account via BPOINT.

Federation Council Mayor Pat Bourke said the introduction of online payments is a win-win for residents and Council.

"It is easy to make a payment. Ratepayers simply have to choose their biller code and enter their customer reference number and this will pull up details of their payment," he said.

“This new service gives our ratepayers the option of paying in the comfort of their own home and it will also allow ratepayers living overseas to make payments easily.”

Mayor Bourke said Council hopes residents will make use of the new online payment service on the Council website.

“This move to offer rates payment on the Council website is just one of the list of improvements planned for Council's online services,” he said.

"We are progressively working towards enabling residents to make further payments and request for services online as we know that being able to pay for Council services online is convenient for residents and over time will produce cost-saving efficiencies for Council.”
