Residents and developers in the Federation Council area can look forward to a streamlined application process with Council moving to online lodgement of applications for development.
Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke said “The NSW Planning Portal is now live on Council’s website.”
Whilst moving to online lodgement which is a mandatory requirement of the NSW Government, it also has many benefits for our community and Council.
“Developers and residents will now be able to access planning services and information from anywhere at any time, rather than only during business hours.”
“Council is encouraging people to take advantage of our free pre lodgement advisory service. Anyone thinking of lodging an application can meet with our staff, either in person or over the phone, and we can clearly outline the steps involved and all the documentation that is required.”
“This speeds up the whole application process and avoids the need for us to seek additional information to support the application,” he said.
“We understand that some residents are not confident with technology or may not have access to a computer, so we encourage you to get in contact with Council who can assist with the application process,” he said.
Mayor Bourke said while adopting any new system has its challenges, Council believes people will be pleased that they will be able to view development applications online, easily track their progress and also receive updates on the progress of their application.
