Speed is the biggest contributing factor to injury and fatality crashes on New South Wales roads with 31% of injury and fatality crashes in Federation Council area involving speed.
The Federation Council portable speed board is utilised around the Council area. The board provides real-time feedback to motorists of their vehicle speed and a reminder of the appropriate speed for the road they are travelling on.
During 2020, the board was located in four towns across the Council area, being Corowa, Howlong, Mulwala and Urana at various street locations.
Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke said, Federation Council is inviting residents to nominate a street location that they would like to see the portable speed board located.
“This street location could be one where an increasing number of vehicles have been using a road, vehicles that maybe speeding or to highlight general awareness of vehicle speed.”
“Residents are invited to complete the online form from Council’s website to nominate a street location,” he said.
