Tourism Treasure Trail excites
Published on 12 July 2017
A record breaking 52 entries have been submitted to the Federation Council Tourism Treasure Trail competition in just its first week.
Residents and visitors across the Council area have been trekking their way around the Federation region, visiting many of the tourism hot spots that feature on the trail map and sending in numerous entries. Federation Council Tourism Team Leader Kaedi Speer said Council’s tourism team had received some fantastic photos which really highlight the incredible region that is Federation Council.
“The response so far has been fantastic,” she said.
“The rainy weather hasn’t stopped the kids from exploring – from jumping in muddy puddles and making chocolate freckles the entries we have received so far contain so much fun and excitement.
“Now that the weather is starting to clear up we are expecting a high influx of even further entries, and we can’t wait to share them with our communities.”
Federation Council Administrator Mike Eden said the treasure trail initiative provides an opportunity to showcase some of the great things to see and do in the region and help drive visitation to the Corowa region and the destination website where more information on the areas attractions is available for local residents and visitors.
“The trail encourages locals and visitors to get out and about this winter, support local business and celebrate what the region has to offer,” Mr Eden said.
“Participants are encouraged to tick off as many activities on the trail as they can and upload a photo to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #visitcorowaregion for their chance to win one of the fantastic prizes on offer.”
You don’t have to visit every point, but each time a participant uploads their photos to either Instagram or Facebook they will go in the draw to win one of six prizes valued at over $1000 including;
- Urana Aquatic Centre Stay and Ski Package*: 2 nights’ accommodation in a family cabin at the Urana Aquatic Centre, kayak and bike hire, food hamper and an activity pack to keep you entertained.
- A round for 2 at the Howlong Golf Resort*: 9 holes for 2 people with cart plus $100 restaurant voucher.
