Tunzafun Family fun centre officially opened at Mulwala

On Saturday 21st September 2019, Mayor Pat Bourke officially opened the extension to the Tunzafun Family fun centre at Mulwala.
Mayor Bourke was accompanied by Cr Bronywn Thomas and General Manager Adrian Butler, and acknowledged the fantastic work that the Tunzafun Incorporated group achieve, and their partners including the Mulwala Progress Association.
"It was an honour to be asked to officially open this next stage of Tunzafun", Mayor Bourke said. "What a terrific example of the community supporting a local not for profit group. The information presented by Committee member, George Jenkins, was so great to hear. The history of the facility and the community voluntary effort that not only went into its restoration after being closed for 18 months, and the ongoing voluntary efforts to man the rides, maintain the machines and the facility, and staff the centre, is amazing".
Mayor Bourke also said, "This latest expansion, again made possible with mostly local funds, is a terrific effort. To have the room now for locals and visiting families to come and enjoy a ride on the dodgem cars, the tea cup rides, mini golf, and the list goes on, is amazing".
If anyone hasn't been to the new larger facility yet, I would strongly encourage you all to, it's fun for adults and kids alike, and I can attest to that, after doing a few laps of the dodgem cars!".
Council is very appreciative of such strong local groups, and we look forward to partnering with Tunzafun and the Mulwala Progress Association into the future also.
Well done to Doug Evans, George Jenkins, and the entire committee, and also the contractors and volunteers who all worked on this latest major project."
