Wet weather delays Mulwala car park works
Published on 19 July 2017
Steady wet weather has led to the postponement of sealing works to be completed at the Apex Park, Carpark, Mulwala.
As a result Council staff have temporarily opened the carpark with a gravel surface to the public at 4pm this afternoon with caution.
Limited access will be provided via Inglis Street, Mulwala and Erne Street, Mulwala to the car park and the toilet.
Council staff advise the lawn area is wet and muddy throughout parts therefore pedestrians are urged to take necessary caution and motorists are reminded that there is to be no parking on the lawn area.
Council crews will be doing minor works in the area over the coming weeks, weather permitting, and the car park will remain open with just the sectioned work area barricaded off to the public.
The boat ramp will remain closed for sediment controls to remain in place.
Council was hoping to have the car park completed by this time however, due to the wet weather, sealing works will be performed once the area dries out, which is expected to be around September this year.
During this period the car park will be closed again for around two weeks.
Further advice will be provided as it becomes available.
