Federation Council has released the draft ‘Future Federation 2040: Community Strategic Plan’ for a public exhibition period.
Federation Council Mayor, Cr Cheryl Cook said this significant document will shape the strategic direction of the Federation Council area for the next decade and beyond.
“The ‘Future Federation 2040’ plan is a vital roadmap that reflects the aspirations and priorities of our community,” said Mayor Cook.
“We have listened carefully to the voices of our residents, and this draft plan is a direct result of extensive community engagement."
The development of the draft plan involved a comprehensive consultation process, including:
-
Direct mail to all households.
-
Extensive social media outreach.
-
Website information and surveys.
-
Community workshops and pop-up sessions across Corowa, Howlong, Mulwala and Urana.
-
Telephone surveys and interviews with key stakeholders.
“We are pleased to have engaged with a significant portion of our community, with nearly 500 residents participating in the consultation process,” Mayor Cook said.
“This feedback has been instrumental in shaping the five key pillars of the plan: Built Federation, Economic Federation, Natural Federation, Social Federation, and Well-Governed Federation.”
The draft plan outlines clear objectives and strategies for each pillar, with a focus on addressing civic leadership, social, environmental, and economic issues in an integrated manner. It also incorporates a new, user-friendly layout and practical ‘How To Make A Difference’ sections, encouraging community participation in achieving the plan’s goals.
“We want to ensure that this plan is not only reflective of our community’s needs but also accessible and engaging,” Mayor Cook said.
“We encourage everyone to take the time to review the draft plan and provide their feedback.”
The draft ‘Future Federation 2040: Community Strategic Plan’ is now available on the Federation Council website for review and public comment.
