The Australian Government has introduced, My Health Record an online summary of your key health information.

Over time, My Health Record will bring together health information such as medical conditions, medicines, allergies and test results in one place. This means safer and more efficient care for you and your family.

It’s your choice who sees your My Health Record and what’s in it, and there are various safeguards in place to protect your information including encryption, firewalls and secure login.

A secure My Health Record will be created for you by the end of the year if you have a Medicare or Department of Veterans’ Affairs card. However, if you don’t want a My Health Record, you need to let the Australian Digital Health Agency know by 15 November 2018. You can do this by visiting the My Health Record website or calling the helpline 1800 723 471.
